South Coast Handler Of The Year

The first annual dog show handling event will be held Saturday 27th August 2011, on Castle Field, Southsea, PO5 3PB.
This handling event is like no other out in the UK at the moment, so please take some time out to browse through the site and hopefully you will come and join us.
There is no pre qualification, just turn up on the day and enter and most of all enjoy yourself.
As with breed judging at dog shows, the handling event will be judged on the group system.... Terrier, hound, gundog, toy utility, working and pastoral.
Each group will be split into five different age categories:
- 6 - 11
- 12 - 16
- 17 -29
- 30 - 45 and
- 46+
You will be judged on how you handle your dog in the showring and then placed 1st to 5th in your class.
After the 46+ class has been judged all class winners for the group will be called back to compete for BEST IN GROUP.
The group winner will then compete against the other group winners for BEST IN SHOW.
The highest placed junior handler (6-11 or 12-16years) will automatically qualify as the JUNIOR GROUP WINNER and go on to compete for BEST JUNIOR HANDLER IN SHOW.
